Messing around with Facebook Page Tabs
December 16, 2011 | No Comments
Facebook has made it easier than ever to create a custom page tab. No more installing Static FBML apps, now it’s as easy creating an app as a developer.
I built this childish Facebook page tab as an example, and I have to say it’s probably the dumbest tab I’ve ever seen. I love it.
Everything Must Go!

The holidays serve as an annual reminder of what’s important. And it isn’t the mountains of gifts piled high under the tree. Sorry, Big-box-store, it’s that time of year to focus on what really matters.

Mark of the Devigner

& is the ascii equivalent of the ampersand, which is the perfect symbol to describe the devigner. Someone who does this & that, someone who is both creative and analytical.
Above is a first round execution exploring one possibility for a mark that sums up the designer/developer types.

Perspective Localized Soccer
June 20, 2011 | No Comments

I was watching some Italian soccer over the weekend and I noticed something strange about certain ads surrounding the field; they were simultaneously 2D and 3D. The field was set up with the standard wall of ads circling the whole field, but there was another row of ads beneath these on either side of each goal. But that was impossible since the bottom of the first row meets the field. It must have been our old friend, Perspective Localized.

There are some great perspective localized installations that juxtapose real life with flat vector graphics, forcing the brain to distinguish 2D from 3D. The soccer ads did essentially the same thing, but without the audience knowing it. Viewed from the exact angle that the TV cameras were filming, the ads looked as if they were standing vertically.
YYAN #25 – Preview

I’ve started to give hand screen printed t-shirts as birthday gifts to my friends and family. I’m calling the project “Your Years Are Numbered” and I give out a shirt with the age of the birthday boy or girl.
I’m planning on making a website and Etsy shop but, until then, here’s a little preview of the design for the number 25.
